  1. lovetox maybe the resets have another cause
  2. lovetox could you maybe look at the xml console what the last stanza is from a server on a reset
  3. Link Mauve Nothing4You, I think that’s more of a Spectrum2 question, btw.
  4. Link Mauve (Sorry, I was talking with my flatmate.)
  5. andrey.g Don't know whether related, I see many warnings: 10/01/2017 00:06:01 (I) nbxmpp.transports_nb pollout called, state == CONNECTED 10/01/2017 00:06:01 (W) nbxmpp.transports_nb calling send on empty buffer and queue 10/01/2017 00:06:40 (I) nbxmpp.transports_nb Plugging fd 27, W:False, R:True
  6. andrey.g Will try to look for it...
  7. lovetox if you start with -v
  8. lovetox you should see the connection reset
  9. lovetox and right before the last stanza should also be printed to the console
  10. andrey.g Yes, I'm running Gajim always with -v and copy/paste relevant data (if I get chance, since it overflows the terminal very fast on reconnect). Here is an example:

  21. andrey.g Would be great if the corresponding XEP would force to tell this maximal allowed number verbose.
  22. Nothing4You how can i test whether and if so which file proxy gajim is using?
  23. lovetox i guess only in debug mode
  24. lovetox -v
  25. lovetox yeah andrey.g thats what i was looking for
  26. lovetox its a server policy
  27. Nothing4You i can't transfer files anymore and i'm trying to find out where i misconfigured it
  28. lovetox to whom you are trying to transfer
  29. lovetox or better to which client
  30. Nothing4You to the same gajim on a different account, same server for example
  31. Nothing4You or to a friend who is using konversations i think with ejabberd
  32. lovetox gajim master only supports jingle:5
  33. lovetox i dont think other clients support this yet
  34. Nothing4You meaning?
  35. Nothing4You well
  36. Nothing4You it used to work
  37. Nothing4You was that functionality removed?
  38. lovetox no it was upgraded
  39. Nothing4You as in old functionality removed?
  40. lovetox but its not backwards compatible
  41. Nothing4You i see
  42. Nothing4You it should be possible to send to myself though
  43. lovetox on the same machine?
  44. Nothing4You yeah
  45. lovetox i dont think so
  46. Nothing4You why?
  47. Nothing4You different accounts on same server
  48. Nothing4You from gajims pov it should be like anyone else
  49. lovetox server doesnt matter its p2p
  50. lovetox in and out is the same
  51. lovetox thats not allowed
  52. Nothing4You i see
  53. lovetox you could probably if you have a VM
  54. Nothing4You sounds overly complicated
  55. lovetox either your contacts use also master
  56. Nothing4You why is such a thing even implemented when it's not backwards compatible?
  57. Nothing4You if it's not backwards compatible it should be possible to have a fallback imo
  58. lovetox because we dont want to maintain a lot of different xep versions
  59. lovetox you can go back to 0.16.8
  60. Nothing4You it's just really annoying for users because things suddenly don't work anymore
  61. Nothing4You i'm playing around with xep-0363 now so i can use that as fallback
  62. andrey.g lovetox‎, yes it's a server policy, but it would be much more helpful, if server would reply instead of too much "more than XX unacked not allowed here". I guess the XEP is responsible to force meaningful error messages.
  63. Nothing4You lovetox, are you using a version capable of doing jingle:5 now so i can test sending you a file?
  64. lovetox the count doesnt matter andrey
  65. lovetox there never should be a unacked stanza in the first place
  66. lovetox that the server allows a certain number is already something not really specified
  67. lovetox yes Nothing4You we could test
  68. lovetox add me lovetox@conversations.im
  69. andrey.g I've supposed they are not unacked for all the time, just the acks have not yet been sent. And thus the count could matter.
  70. lovetox andrey.g a ack not send is unacked
  71. lovetox when the server asks for a ack
  72. lovetox and we dont send it
  73. lovetox then its our fault
  74. Nothing4You also, another problem i'm having with gajim currently
  75. Nothing4You the roster window has an icon in alt+tab, other windows like the conversations don't
  76. Nothing4You is that a known problem with the master or a packaging issue?
  77. Nothing4You still gnome btw
  78. lovetox if i alt + tab in gnome i have one icon for gajim, even if i have 10 windows
  79. lovetox the windows appear if i stay over the icon
  80. Nothing4You right now i have 4 icons for gnome
  81. Nothing4You e.g. firefox is merged to 1 icon
  82. Nothing4You gajim shows me 1 icon with proper icon showing for the roster
  83. Nothing4You and 3 broken "no image" ones
  84. lovetox what windows are open?
  85. lovetox chat windows?
  86. Nothing4You 1x roster
  87. Nothing4You 1x tabbed chat
  88. Nothing4You 1x file transfer
  89. Nothing4You 4th was an enlarged profile icon that didn't close itself for some reason
  90. Nothing4You after unhovering it
  91. lovetox i dont have that
  92. lovetox what gnome version do you use?
  93. Nothing4You 3.24.2 according to settings -> details
  94. Nothing4You 3.24.3 is installed but not yet active since i didn't restart it recently
  95. lovetox me too
  96. lovetox its weird, gnome must know that all the windows belong to the same application
  97. Nothing4You firefox, termite, thunar, sublime-text work fine
  98. Nothing4You with grouped windows
  99. lovetox hm yeah for me gajim works also
  100. lovetox lets wait, maybe it goes away :D
  101. Nothing4You it's been like that since i set up gajim on this machine
  102. lovetox can you open the accounts window
  103. lovetox and see if this shows up grouped or with an icon
  104. Nothing4You that's grouped
  105. lovetox then i know whats the issue
  106. Nothing4You what is it?
  107. Nothing4You and why are you not affected?
  108. lovetox the kind of window class gajim uses for the chatwindows
  109. lovetox accountswindow is new, so i used the new one
  110. Nothing4You ah
  111. Nothing4You lovetox, why does it not affect you though?
  112. lovetox maybe because i run from source
  113. Nothing4You what does gajim need python-distro for?
  114. lovetox when someone requests the system which your client runs on
  115. lovetox to find out and get a nice formatted string of the distro and version
  116. lovetox we need this package
  117. Nothing4You ok
  118. lovetox if you dont install it there is a fallback
  119. Nothing4You is that enabled by default?
  120. lovetox but it only says then Linux
  121. lovetox preferences -> advanced -> allow client/OS information
  122. Nothing4You ah already disabled that
  123. Nothing4You btw
  124. Nothing4You lovetox, geo links don't work correctly
  125. Nothing4You geo:50,7
  126. Nothing4You that opens http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=///50&mlon=7
  127. Nothing4You instead of http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=50&mlon=7
  128. lovetox hm i think it has to be in a certain format
  129. Nothing4You it's the format that conversations sent
  130. lovetox where do you test this?
  131. lovetox in 0.16.8?
  132. Nothing4You git master
  133. lovetox with what plugin?
  134. Nothing4You it doesn't seem to need a plugin
  135. lovetox then its your system
  136. lovetox not gajim
  137. Nothing4You if i type geo: it makes that a link
  138. lovetox yeah but if you click it we hand the link to your system
  139. lovetox then it opens it with a application, and that does something with it
  140. Nothing4You so you're saying something on my system appearently knows that i might want to open geo links in OSM?
  141. lovetox probably your browser knows
  142. Nothing4You it's not even using the same browser i use with http links
  143. lovetox just type it into your browser and see
  144. Nothing4You that's the odd thing
  145. lovetox if i click that link it opens chrome and does nothing
  146. Nothing4You but you're correct
  147. Nothing4You xdg-open geo:51,7 opens midori
  148. Nothing4You thought gajim would convert that to an osm link
  149. Nothing4You if i open geo:51,7 in midori it opens the correct osm url with mlat=51
  150. Nothing4You if i open it with xdg-open it has mlat=///51
  151. Nothing4You :(
  152. lovetox in 0.16.8 there is a plugin which downloads the map and displays it inline
  153. lovetox but its not ported to master
  154. Nothing4You i'm a bit surprised that midori seems to be the only desktop browser supporting geo links
  155. Nothing4You gnome-maps works better
  156. azarus I'm using Gajim on Sway (a Wayland compositor) and the Gajim tray icon is nowhere to be seen.
  157. azarus Sway only supports StatusNotifierItem from KDE.
  158. lovetox gajim doesnt support that
  159. azarus Yup, noticed that :s Would it be reasonable to create an issue for that?
  160. lovetox yes
  161. lovetox what is it with every distribution starting there own StatusIcon api
  162. Link Mauve Isn’t Ubuntu’s and KDE’s the same API actually?
  163. lovetox who knows, and what happens when ubuntu switches to gnome with 17.10
  164. Link Mauve You can already test that.
  165. Link Mauve They’ve also probably already announced that.
  166. Link Mauve And for your “who knows”, my question was actually rhetorical. :p

  168. andrey.g Back to the contact, which I recently added and enabled OMEMO. I've noticed, that the OMEMO-Icon show "NOT authenticated". Why? The contact has 2 keys, I've trusted one of them, which is being used now and let the other one be undecided.
  169. andrey.g Back to the contact, which I recently added and enabled OMEMO. I've noticed, that the OMEMO-Icon shows "NOT authenticated". Why? The contact has 2 keys, I've trusted one of them, which is being used now and let the other one be undecided.
  170. lovetox because it needs a lot of UI work to display all kind of states
  171. lovetox and you can receive from undecided keys
  172. andrey.g OK, thanks. Once I've switched undecided to untrusted I've got what I actually wanted (Gajim will not encrypt and send for untrusted keys, I suppose). So my question seems to be a typical FAQ one. Is there already a web page for this?
  173. lovetox gajim will not encrypt to anything other then trusted
  174. lovetox but it can receive from undecided keys
  175. lovetox this is an open issue
  176. lovetox you can not see if a message from someone is from a undecided key or a trusted one
  177. lovetox hence the not authenticated tooltip, because gajim doesnt know if the message comes from a trusted source
  178. andrey.g I see, so switching from general not authenticated to marking only incoming messages from undecided devices with some symbol at the end of the message is "just" a matter of UI and implementation time.
  179. lovetox yes, i master we have lock symbols on every message
  180. lovetox the plan is to color them accordingly in the future
