  5. concerto Does anyone else wish changing the font size would also change the font size in the input area?

  7. yar1k hello, do you know xmpp app for andoid device, with GPG key enc. support?
  8. Asterix Conversation does it
  9. yar1k thx

  12. doczkal Unfortunately nobody of my contacts likes gpg encryption for instant messaging. :(
  13. stp doczkal: Use OMEMO instead
  14. mimi89999 lovetox: Are pep avatars ready for testing?
  15. doczkal stp: omemo is ok. But the setup is to complicated for Pidgin clients. So people refuse to use omemo and stick so OTR
  16. stp doczkal: Regarding Pidgin, did you see/try this: Otherwise a change from Pidgin to Gajim could be the solution.
  17. doczkal stp: I tried to convince them to use gajim but had no success. I did the switch myself but some people are picky about UI ... Look and feel and so on
  18. mdosch The GTK3 master branch doesn't look bad. But it's still in development so probably not everybody's first choice
  19. debacle Question: Why does Gajim (master) use autotools (automake, autoconf)? It is not very common in Python projects, right? Is it only because of translations (po)?
  20. lovetox yes i think so, and because gajim is very old
  21. lovetox setuptools does not exist that long
  22. lovetox but we are in nearly finished with our switch to setuptools
  23. mimi89999 lovetox: Are pep avatars ready for testing?
  24. lovetox no
  25. debacle lovetox: this is good news :~) Are the changes for setuptools in master or in a separate branch?
  26. pep. mimi89999, sorry I need a bit more preparation
  27. lovetox no in master there is a MR for it on gitlab
  28. lovetox it already works
  29. lovetox just some minor tweakings are necessary
  30. mimi89999 pep XD
  31. debacle lovetox: very good, this will make packagers life easier (and probably also people working on Windows, right?)
  32. lovetox hm no has no impact on windows, on windows the work is to install a freezed python env from which i just the py file
  33. lovetox hm no has no impact on windows, on windows the work is to install a freezed python env from which i start the py file
  34. tempman04 What files are needed to save history?
  35. debacle lovetox: oh, we Linuxers will never understand Windows :~)
  36. lovetox tempman04, files?
  37. debacle lovetox: I'll try Andrés MR as soon as possible. Who is André here in the MUC, btw.? If he is here :~)
  38. lovetox hm i dont think he is here
  39. Asterix tempman04: logs.db ?
  40. Link Mauve Ugh, for how long did that MUC kick me out? :(
  41. mathieui ** Message: Remote error from secret service: org.freedesktop.Secret.Error.IsLocked: Cannot create an item in a locked collection
  42. mathieui when I start gajim git 84060484c
  43. lovetox is your keyring configured to ask for a password everytime a app uses it?
  44. mathieui no
  45. mathieui I didn’t configure a keyring
  46. mathieui and I’m not using any desktop environment
  47. lovetox does that hinder gajim to start?

  49. mathieui (yes)
  50. mathieui (could I be a member in order to not hit those ridiculous activity limits please?)
  51. mathieui thanks
  52. Link Mauve lovetox, in the new account window, why is the client certificat pane another window, instead of being part of the parent one like every other one?
  53. Link Mauve Also why are some options grayed out?
  54. Link Mauve I’d recommend using bullets instead of asterisks for the password, fyi.
  55. lovetox i use the gtk password entry
  56. lovetox maybe this is styleable with css
  57. lovetox options that are greyed out, depend on beeing online maybe
  58. SouL Link Mauve: is there any reason for that or just preference? (Not saying I prefer asterisks or anything)
  59. lovetox what is greyed out
  60. Link Mauve SouL, the HIG say that IIRC.
  61. Link Mauve lovetox, stuff like profile, OpenPGP, etc.
  62. Link Mauve Without any hint about why.
  63. lovetox because you are offline
  64. Link Mauve (I don’t mind it being grayed out, but at least a tooltip would be very welcome.)
  65. Link Mauve Oh.
  66. lovetox openpgp needs python-gnupg
  67. Link Mauve I don’t want you to tell me, I want you to tell your users when they encounter that. :p
  68. lovetox yeah :)
  69. lovetox and certificate is not the only dialog
  70. Link Mauve General and Connection aren’t external dialogs.
  71. Link Mauve Certificate also doesn’t react to the Escape key.
  72. lovetox i guess i could have made it without dialogs at all
  73. mathieui lovetox, do I really need gnome-keyring-daemon for gajim?
  74. lovetox you shouldnt, but it seems we dont react on that exception
  75. lovetox its not intended.
  76. lovetox give me a minute mathieui i fix it
  77. mathieui thanks
  78. bot Philipp Hörist pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/master_ of _gajim_ <>: *267dd73f* <> Catch LibSecret errors
  79. lovetox i hope this works maiheu , i have no way to test it
  80. mathieui checking now
  81. lovetox oh no GLib not imported ^^
  82. mathieui :D indeecd
  83. mathieui :D indeed
  84. bot Philipp Hörist pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/master_ of _gajim_ <>: *f6deff2c* <> Fix import
  85. concerto lovetox: any luck with the PasswordSafe autotype problem?
  86. lovetox no sorry still not had time to look into it
  87. concerto lovetox: okay, no problem 🙂
  88. lovetox but i have it installed now
  89. lovetox concerto,
  90. lovetox this?
  91. concerto lovetox: yeah, that
  92. mimi89999 lovetox: Yes
  93. mimi89999 concerto: Windows version?
  94. lovetox but i find no option for automatic input
  95. concerto mimi89999: Debian (tried with both Testing and Stable)
  96. lovetox should it just do that without configuration
  97. mimi89999 concerto: Isn't there only one version of pwsafe in both?
  98. concerto lovetox: its autotype (not the drag-key-icon-to-autotype-password thing, that one works) worked with gajim-nightly and the Debian repo version, but stopped working in gajim-default-nightly
  99. concerto mimi89999: not sure
  100. lovetox maiheu, ?
  101. mathieui if that was for me, I can say that the libsecret fix works
  102. mathieui (I do have weird errors while trying to send mam preferences, though)
  103. lovetox yeah please tell me, no one to my knowledge every used that since i implemented it
  104. mathieui well, it works now, it sets the preferences
  105. mathieui but I always get the error message "no response from server"
  106. mathieui even though I see it in the xml console
  107. lovetox what server are you on
  108. mathieui prosody
  109. lovetox k i test with
  110. lovetox one moment
  111. mathieui yeah, I was using :p
  112. lovetox concerto, if i drag the autotype symbol onto the password dialog
  113. lovetox it works for me
  114. concerto lovetox, when you select an entry, pressing Ctrl-t should perform autotype. Also, right-click on an entry - Edit - 'Additional' tab - (for Gajim) enter \p\n in the Autotype field, and optionally set Double-Click Action to Auto Type. (that will let you autotype by just hitting Enter after selecting an entry)
  115. concerto lovetox: it's not the dragging one, as I said - that one works. It's the one I described above. ^
  116. lovetox indeed maiheu i can reproduce, i developed that against ejabbered, i look into it
  117. lovetox indeed mathieui i can reproduce, i developed that against ejabbered, i look into it
  118. mathieui thanks
  119. lovetox concerto, all of them work for me
  120. lovetox im on windows 7 though
  121. concerto o_o
  122. concerto lovetox, I'll try speaking to their devs, I guess.
  123. lovetox are you on windows?
  124. concerto lovetox, no; I've tried this on Debian Testing and Debian Stable.
  125. lovetox hm no idea then
  126. lovetox on windows works
  127. concerto hm
  128. concerto thanks for looking into it
  129. lovetox you could also ask them what i have to do to make the window recognizeable by pwsafe, if you are on it :)
  130. lovetox mathieui, because it seems prosody does it wrong
  131. lovetox
  132. lovetox maybe help me to interpret this
  133. lovetox after setting prefs, prosody should respond with the current prefs
  134. lovetox but it does not it sends a empty iq result
  135. mathieui indeed
  136. lovetox mathieui, did you report this? if not i will do itnow
  137. mathieui I didn’t :x
  138. lovetox done :)
  139. mathieui thanks
  140. lovetox answers we get on this will be
  141. lovetox 1. examples are not normative
  142. lovetox 2
  143. lovetox 2 there is no MUST in there
  144. lovetox 3. probably there is somewhere a document that says emtpy iq result is enough
  145. lovetox :D
  146. mathieui haha
  147. Link Mauve lovetox,
  148. lovetox nice :)
  149. Link Mauve Just missing review and push.
