Gajim - 2016-11-29

  1. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8171 (Cannot create config file on startup (already exists)) updated @asterix, yes, I have managed to reproduce it by: Select Gajim shortcut. Press Enter, wait 1 sec, press Enter. Two instances of Gajim main window appear. One shows you the error in a separate windows.
  2. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8387 (gajim crashed when a new muc bookmark was added via conversations) updated I've got the same issue. 100% reproducible if I start gajim with python3. Here is a GDB backtrace: #0 __GI_raise (sig=sig@entry=6) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/raise.c:58 #1 0x00007ffff6c4d52a in __GI_abort () at abort.c:89 #2 0x00007fffebc3fcc5 in g_assertion_message (domain=domain@entry=0x7fffe1a5eed8 "Gtk", file=file@entry=0x7fffe1ab8245 "gtkrbtree.c", […][…]
  3. SaltyBones Why does th stupid bot say "view rest of paste" when it didn't even display the beginning :p
  4. lovetox its when the paste has a specific length :
  5. lovetox :)
  6. SaltyBones Yeah, but it needs to at least display the first three lines no matter if there is a link or not. :)
  7. lovetox Br0nek
  8. Br0nek ?
  9. lovetox i looked at your merge request
  10. Br0nek And?
  11. lovetox thanks, i think with a slight modification we can merge this
  12. lovetox when you send the question
  13. lovetox dont do it with a gajim event MessageOutgoingEvent
  14. lovetox do it like that for example
  15. lovetox stanza = nbxmpp.Message(to=jid, body=msg, typ='chat')
  16. lovetox gajim.connections[account].connection.send(stanza, now=True)
  17. lovetox this send a message over the ne nbxmpp api, it doesnt touch gajim
  18. lovetox i think thats what we want here
  19. lovetox no events triggered, no msg in log etc
  20. Br0nek Ok, I'll rewrite code
  21. lovetox then you also dont need your work around for sending message sound
  22. Br0nek :)
  23. lovetox and please squash the 2 readme commit into the other one :)
  24. Br0nek Ok
  25. lovetox good work though :) do you personally have problems with spam?
  26. lovetox i have to say i never experienced it
  27. Br0nek Yes, every day I receive 3-5 spam messages from various jid's
  28. lovetox hope they dont learn to answer your questions^^
  29. lovetox though probably very few other clients have such a feature
  30. Link Mauve Looking at my spammers, Psi+ already implements that.
  31. lovetox though is this not better handled with privacy lists?
  32. lovetox gajim supports that
  33. Link Mauve Wouldn’t that block any possibility of people contacting you?
  34. Br0nek ‎lovetox, should I squash new changes in one commit?
  35. lovetox yes, squash everything into one commit
  36. lovetox its not that big of a change :)
  37. Br0nek Ok
  38. lovetox thats not a general rule, but if we add one addiditonal feature it probably is ok
  39. lovetox Link Mauve, i think it would except via a subscription request
  40. lovetox i dont know if this is also blocked
  41. lovetox oh you can choose
  42. lovetox you can block messages and subscription requests
  43. lovetox but not all servers support it
  44. Link Mauve lovetox, I wouldn’t want everyone I communicate with to be in my roster…
  45. Link Mauve Already got 338 people in there.
  46. lovetox ok i guess then it is not helpful
  47. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8473 (gajim hangs on startup, needs 2min+ to recover) updated Replying to asterix: If you disable the "Local" account, does it fix the problem? Yes, that fixed the issue! Just for my understanding, what is that local account?
  48. Br0nek lovetox‎, can you delete my last merge request?
  49. lovetox hm i think it should just change
  50. lovetox if you force push to your repo the new commits
  51. lovetox or didnt it?
  52. lovetox yeah its already changed
  53. Br0nek I deleted old branch and upload again
  54. Br0nek O_o
  55. lovetox you dont have to do this, next time, look at the rebase command
  56. lovetox once you initiate a merge request it always shows the difference betweent master and your repo
  57. lovetox if you change it in betweent it also will reflect those changes
  58. Br0nek I rebase local repository, but when I tried push, I received: hint: Updates were rejected because the tip of your current branch is behind hint: its remote counterpart. Integrate the remote changes (e.g. hint: 'git pull ...') before pushing again. hint: See the 'Note about fast-forwards' in 'git push --help' for details.
  59. Br0nek That's why I remove gitlab branch and push again
  60. Br0nek removed*
  61. Asterix I'm reading the code. Will post some comments
  62. lovetox bronek after you rebased and changed things in your local copy
  63. lovetox you have to "git push -f"
  64. lovetox that overwrittes the remote repo with whatever you hace in your local
  65. Br0nek Ohh, I didn't know)
  66. Br0nek Anyway, my method work too)
  67. lovetox also now that you only have one commit
  68. Br0nek *working
  69. lovetox you could just change something
  70. Asterix Br0nek: when commit will be ready (not yet, I'll comment) could you do it for gtk3 branch too?
  71. lovetox and do commit --amend
  72. Br0nek Asterix‎, ok
  73. Asterix Br0nek: ok I did a few comments
  74. Br0nek Ok, I'll fix your comments tomorow. Now I'm going to sleep)
  75. Asterix good night
  76. Br0nek Thx, see you.
  77. andrey.utkin is it right that nbxmpp repo moved from ? what's new location, ?
  78. lovetox yeah just check out
  79. lovetox
  80. andrey.utkin nice. will gajim migrate to git, too? :)
  81. lovetox yes
  82. lovetox yes
