Gajim - 2016-10-27

  1. Marzanna Whoa. Gajim just kicked me from all MUCs. It said that they were passworded!
  2. johannes wow, looks like Gitlab based Git repos are coming. :)
  3. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #1304 (Reorder groups by drag n drop) updated this still isn't possible?
  4. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #7135 (Support for ZRTP) updated this is the only major feature missing to make Gajim the most advanced XMPP client there is. Are there any obstacles regarding dependencies?
  5. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8089 (E2E in audio-sessions -- SRTP in farstream) updated Component changed
  6. treaki hi
  7. treaki ive got following message:
  8. treaki Es wurde ein Programmfehler entdeckt Der Fehler ist vermutlich nicht fatal, sollte aber trotzdem den Entwicklern gemeldet werden. Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/gajim/src/", line 2498, in process_connections gajim.idlequeue.process() File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nbxmpp/", line 569, in process self._check_time_events() File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nbxmpp/", line 337, in _check_time_events self.queue[fd].read_timeout() KeyError: 38
  9. treaki what dose that mean and what am i suposed to do now?
  10. Link Mauve treaki, does it happen after a certain event?
  11. treaki my server seams to have tecnical problems
  12. treaki i had one or to unsecure connection problems but connected after tat again but now the jabberservice as well as the website is unreachable
  13. treaki (dns failor)
  14. treaki but i dont think that such a general problem should resould in such a situation
  15. Link Mauve You should never attempt to connect unencrypted.
  16. Link Mauve This is definitely a Gajim issue anyway, but the traceback doesn’t give any information to debug anything.
  17. treaki now i had to kill Gajim...
  18. treaki is this a known bug, could you add it to your list and if so do you need additional information
  19. treaki ??
  20. lovetox treaki, its hard to debug
  21. lovetox we cant simulate a dying server
  22. linus Yes you can
  23. treaki but can you read anything out of this Massage, i am not even sure its related to that
  24. lovetox yeah how, ddos your own server
  25. linus Just add firewall rules to stop gajim from talking to a healthy server
  26. linus (On the machine running gajim)
  27. lovetox but thats not the problem here
  28. lovetox its not a oh i cant connect anymore
  29. lovetox its i can connect, but then some packets drop
  30. lovetox i get some more
  31. treaki i just got back to my system after some time and saw this message
  32. lovetox and then i get nothing again
  33. linus Which you can simulate with firewall rules :)
  34. lovetox you can do anything
  35. lovetox but will you do it?
  36. treaki my question was if there is any logfile i need to provide, i am not capable of simulating or reproducing the situation i just got this message without any clue
  37. lovetox i would debug this if it happens everyday
  38. lovetox but this only happens apperntly if a server is under ddos and you cant use the xmpp service anyway
  39. lovetox so for me low priority :)
  40. Link Mauve treaki, treaki, the issue here is actually that nbxmpp thinks there is a fd in the event loop which isn’t here, this is much more than a DoS’d server but very likely very hard to track down.
  41. Link Mauve Erro, lovetox* was the other one. ^^'
  42. Link Mauve Err, lovetox* was the other one. ^^'
  43. Link Mauve treaki, if you start Gajim with the -v argument it might print something useful for debugging before that error happens.
  44. Link Mauve Redirect it into a file.
  45. treaki as i sayed i cant reproduce this problem
  46. treaki and if there is no logfile i cant find it out eigher
  47. treaki i also cant run my desktop app averytime in terminal, is there a way to switch on logging to a file?
  48. Link Mauve Change your launcher’s command to do the same thing.
