  1. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8158 (No XDG notification for incoming messages) updated I should add that this is very confusing, and not standard in other messagers. I missed lots of messages yesterday because of this. (Notice that I have my speakers muted at work, as I don't want to annoy my office mate.) If the conversation window is opened *and focused*, sure, now showing notifications makes total sense - but for a minimized or otherwise covered win[…] https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/8158#comment:2
  2. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8159 ([Meta] Trac issue: Unicode error when submitting an issue) created Steps to reproduce If I add a URL in "<>" parenthesis inside a bug report, and hit "Preview", I get an error message: Genshi UnicodeEncodeError? error while rendering template (unknown template location) and everything I entered in the bug report form is lost. Hitting the "back" button gives me a new blank t[…] https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/8159
  3. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8160 (Cannot install plugin installer plugin) created Bug description I am following the instructions at https://trac-plugins.gajim.org/wiki/TriggersPlugin Steps to reproduce Download the zip file from above URL Install it Now I get a message box asking whether I want to override the existing plugin. This doesn't make much sense, I did not install this plugin before, and it is not listed in the plugin list. Hit "Yes" The box apepars again […] https://trac.gajim.org/ti[…]
  4. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8160 (Cannot install plugin installer plugin) updated I also just noticed that my attempts to install this plugin ended up removing the OTR plugin which I had already installed: $ ls ~/.local/share/gajim/plugins plugin_installer There used to be a folder "gotr" in there. https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/8160#comment:1
  5. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8161 (Omemo Support) created Hi, it would be great if Gajim could somehow support the new OMEMO draft-XEP(?) encryption that Conversations uses: http://conversations.im/omemo/ The reason is that gajim, together with conversations (android) is currently the only client supporting a „modern“ set of XEPs, with htt-upload, mam, carbons, inline image display, muc bookmarks, etc. It would be great if omemo — as the encryptio[…] https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/8161
  6. NebuK hi
  7. NebuK that was me :-)
  8. NebuK lets see if i can do that :-) would be great
  9. tmolitor arune: your temporary jpeg file is suspectible of a race condition if you try to upload a second image while the first is still being downsampled...
  10. arune Hmm, is that possible?
  11. tmolitor arune: yes, I think so...
  12. tmolitor arune: I merged your code now...when PIL is available, PIL is used, else your gtk code is used...but PIL really gives better image quality (jpeg quality 10 versus 23 for my sample picture)...
  13. tmolitor arune: could you test the new version under windows before I upload it to the plugin repo?
  14. tmolitor https://xmpp-upload.datenknoten.me/-br3Vey7Wu4NBfiBX37qzQ3WxpA/nwrvGr7FqcQyM/httpupload.py
  15. tmolitor arune: my sample image:

  17. tmolitor arune: it would be nice to support the old image display using gtk in the url_image_preview plugin...it looked nicer without the line under the image produced by the xhtml link..
  18. tmolitor arune: maybe you could support both display types and use the xhtml one as fallback if the gtk one doesn't work/isn't available...
  19. tmolitor asterix: would it be much work to package PIL for windows? it produces much better quality previews than gtk...
  20. Link Mauve tmolitor, here on ArchLinux Pillow is about 3.5 MiB including the dependencies, so add that to the package.
  21. Link Mauve You can’t just change the quality of gdk-pixbuf?
  22. Link Mauve Also, have you reported the bug you found that made you add more spaces than required around the image? In poezio those spaces make the URL appear twice.
  23. tmolitor Link Mauve, no, I didn't report that bug, but you could if you want...
  24. Link Mauve I haven’t used Gajim in a long time. ^^'
  25. SouL hello
  26. SouL tmolitor, where do you get that path tmolitor ?
  27. SouL Ah ok, nothing..
  28. tmolitor SouL, it's a patch arune made for my httpupload plugin...or what patch do you mean?
  29. SouL Nothing, really, tmolitor. I read wrong, sorry! :P
  30. tmolitor SouL, ah, okay :)
  31. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #8161 (Omemo Support) updated is it really superior to OTR? a plugin would be nice, but such a feature is usefull only if several clients implement it. I guess it will be hard until it really become a XEP. https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/8161#comment:1
  32. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim Plugins • plugin_installer_0.11.20.zip attached to PluginInstallerPlugin https://trac-plugins.gajim.org/attachment/wiki/PluginInstallerPlugin/plugin_installer_0.11.20.zip • PluginInstallerPlugin edited (diff) https://trac-plugins.gajim.org/wiki/PluginInstallerPlugin?version=5
  33. Asterix arune: tmolitor: this installer is supposed to have PIL. Could you confirm it works correctly? https://gajim.org/downloads/snap/win/gajim-0.16.4-pil.exe
  34. arune tmolitor, I don't think we need to have xhtml as fallback, just go back to the gtk eventbox version and set gajim minimum to 0.16.4 in manifest
  35. arune and regarding #109, could we print the url in really small font or something similar?
  36. Asterix arune: about #109, maybe the same behaviour as smiley. When we select a smiley and copy / paste, it copies the ascii chars
  37. arune Asterix: that'd be cool
