Gajim - 2015-01-26

  1. Dwayne Just wanted to send a quick "Thank you" for all the good work on gajim!
  2. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #7956 ("A programming error has been detected" OpenSSL) created Bug description Opened a new tab in conversation window, and got the following error in a new window ("A programming error has been detected") Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/nbxmpp/dispatcher_nb.py", line 497, in dispatch handler['func'](session, stanza) File "/usr/share/gajim/src/common/connection_handlers.py", line 1868, in _messag[…] https://trac.gajim.org/ticket[…]
  3. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #7957 (Ubuntu Ayatana Integration isn't working under Ubuntu 14.10) created Bug description Ubuntu Ayatana Integration isn't working under Ubuntu 14.10 Steps to reproduce Installing Plugin. Software versions OS version: Ubuntu 14.10 https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/7957
  4. Holger Is anyone using the current development code with a MAM-enabled Prosody? If so, does MAM work for outgoing messages that were sent from other clients for you?
  5. NUF I have some problems. But didn't check if it is client or server problem
  6. NUF Will check later
  7. bot RSS: Feeds for Gajim • Ticket #7957 (Ubuntu Ayatana Integration isn't working under Ubuntu 14.10) closed invalid: please report this problem in the plugin bug tracker: UbuntuIntegrationPlugin https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/7957#comment:1 • Ticket #7956 ("A programming error has been detected" OpenSSL) closed fixed: dup of many others. Will be fixed in next release. https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/7956#comment:1
  8. Holger I'm failing to get my MAM module for ejabberd play well with Gajim, and for me it doesn't seem to work reliably with Prosody, either. The MAM (0.3) communication looks just fine to me, but Gajim often decides to not display the messages it receives from the archive.
  9. NUF That feeling i have too
  10. NUF I get only half of the message. Didn't check if it's only incoming ones
  11. NUF I wool check later if it works better with conversations, they released a mam compatible version recently
  12. Holger Yes, it works just fine with Conversations.
  13. Link Mauve I don’t remember issues with poezio/gajim against prosody.
  14. Link Mauve Oh, MAM, not Carbons.
  15. Link Mauve Sorry, I didn’t read the relevant thing.
  16. Holger NUF: Of course that doesn't necessarily mean that my implementation is correct.
  17. Asterix if you could identify a bit more precisel what is not saved in Gajim, that would help debugging ...
  18. Holger Asterix: Well here's one example of the MAM communication with Prosody: https://userpage.fu-berlin.de/holger/archive/mam-xml.txt
  19. Holger In this case, none of those messages were shown. In other cases, things seemed to work.
  20. Asterix I'll have to do some tests to see if I can reproduce. So it's in incoming and outgoing messages
  21. Holger Yes, my earlier impression that only one direction is affected was wrong.
  22. SamWhited Weird error with nbxmpp: When performing service discovery on conference.jabber.org (I know that doesn't make sense, but I accidentally pasted that into the service discovery box) Gajim continuously throws this: https://gist.github.com/SamWhited/a0d22bed150a1a328dd9
  23. SamWhited It also caused my server to eat a ton of memory (at which point it killed my connection due to flooding)
  24. SamWhited and continued to do so after I closed the service discovery dialog
  25. Asterix SamWhited: hmm you have the XML?
  26. SamWhited Asterix: I can get it, but it will require me crashing my connection again :) brb
  27. NUF hm, ok, now i connected with gajim, after beeing online only with mobile for some time
  28. NUF in one conversation i got only outgoing messages
  29. NUF unfortunatly forgot to open xml console ^
  30. Asterix :/
  31. NUF maybe reconnect will show. brb
  32. NUF problem is anyway, that my sml console is terribly long, because i use some transports, with to many contacts ^^
  33. SamWhited Asterix: Updated the gist I pasted with the XML log (removed some random messages from my server telling me it was using up too much memory, probably because of the huge number of muc rooms on jabber.org)
  34. NUF ok
  35. NUF i testet
  36. NUF I tested
  37. NUF there is one incoming message which i got 2reconnects ago, which appear now
  38. NUF and one which was during my last offline (in gajim) which do not appear
  39. NUF but its in in xml console
  40. Asterix SamWhited: ok there are too much rooms, but it seems there are utf-8 encoding problems in some or Gajim think there is but there is not, and there is a bug somewhere
  41. Asterix I need to sleep for now ...
  42. Asterix but I'll try to repro
  43. NUF ok Asterix, good night :)
